People Choice Awards 2018 il trionfo di Shadowhunters
Riverdale è il miglior drama, Orange is the New Black è la miglior comedy, ma Jim Parsons e Mariska Hargitay tengono alto l’onore della tv tradizionale ai People Choice Awards
Quattro premi conquistati su cinque nomination. Questi i numeri del trionfo di Shadowhunters ai People Choice Awards 2018 per la prima volta marchiati E! che ha trasmesso l’evento negli Stati Uniti.
La serie tv di Freeform che è stata cancellata con la terza stagione la cui seconda parte è ancora da trasmettere, diffusa in Italia fuori dagli Stati Uniti da Netflix, ha quindi un forte nucleo di fedeli fan che hanno invaso di voti i People Choice Awards, i premi “del popolo” che scelgono i propri film, show e serie tv preferiti.
Lo show del 2018 è quindi Shadowhunters che supera serie tv molto più amate e con molto più pubblico come Grey’s Anatomy, This is Us, The Big Bang Theory o Tredici. Probabilmente la cancellazione ha giocato una parte importante nella scelta, i fan hanno voluto dare un segnale magari a Netflix che potrebbe decidere di salvare la serie tv (le indiscrezioni in questo senso si rincorrono fin dall’annunciata cancellazione).
La serie tv drama del 2018 è Riverdale mentre la comedy è Orange is the New Black; la neonata categoria revival è vinta da Dynasty. Shadowhunters vince con le sue due star Harry Shum Jr e atherine McNamara rispettivamente “Male Tv Star” e “Female Tv Star” del 2018, ma anche come show che merita una “maratona” (Bingeworthy Show), mentre l’unica categoria in cui perde è il lo show Sci-Fi Fantasy del 2018 dove è superato da Wynonna Earp.
Una star della “vecchia tv” come Mariska Hargitay per Law & Order SVU vince il premio come Drama Tv Star, Jim Parsons di The Big Bang Theory è il Comedy Tv Star del 2018.
