DGA Awards 2014 nomination: doppia candidatura per Breaking Bad, Mondern Family, The Big Bang Theory e… Bryan Cranston

Ai Directors Guild of America Awards 2014 Bryan Cranston ottiene due nomination in due categorie differenti, una per la regia di un episodio di Breaking bad, l’altra per la regia di un episodio di Modern Family.

Sono stati annunciati i nominati ai Directors Guild of America Awards 2014, i premi assegnati dal sindacato registi alle migliori regie televisive e cinematografiche dell’anno passato. Tra le serie tv l’unica novità rilevante è la possibilità per Bryan Cranston di portarsi a casa due premi, uno come miglior regista drammatico grazie alla direzione dell’episodio Blood Money di Breaking Bad, e l’altro come miglior regista comedy per la direzione dell’episodio The Old Man & The Tree di Modern Family.

A proposito di Breaking Bad e Modern Family: le due serie, doppiamente candidate nelle rispettive categorie, dovranno fare i conti con Homeland, Game of Thrones e House of Cards (attenzione a David Fincher!) e con The Big Bang Theory (doppia candidatura anche per la comedy CBS) e 30 Rock.

Nella categoria miniserie/film tv la sfida è di altissimo livello: c’è il 2 volte nominato all’Oscar David Mamet (Phil Spector), il 2 volte nominato all’Oscar Stephen Frears (Muhammad Ali’s Greatest Fight), il vincitore dell’Oscar Steven Soderbergh (Behind the Candelabra) e la coppia formata dall’otto volte nominata al Primetime Emmy Beth McCarthy-Miller e dal vincitore di un Primetime Emmy Rob Ashfod (The Sound of Music Live!). Il nome nuovo è l’esperto seriale Nelson McCormick (Killing Kennedy).
