La miniserie e la comedy di Channel 4 fanno il pieno di nomination ai BAFTA 2014. Tra i drama il duello è tra Broadchurch e The Village.
Sono state annunciate le serie tv nominate ai BAFTA 2014, i premi assegnati dalla British Academy of Film and Television Arts. A dominare le nomination sono stati la miniserie Southcliffe e la comedy The IT Crowd, entrambi trasmessi da Channel 4. Southcliffe è stata candidata come miglior miniserie, miglior attore (Sean Harris), migliore attore non protagonista (Rory Kinnear) e migliore attrice non protagonista (Shirley Henderson), mentre The IT Crowd si gioca la vittoria, oltre che nella categoria miglior Comedy, anche nelle categorie Miglior performance maschile in una comedy (Richard Ayoade, Chirs O’Dowd) e Miglior performance femminile in una comedy (Katherine Parkinson).
Broadchurch e The Village, entrambi candidati a tre premi (grazie ai loro attori), si contenderanno il titolo di migliore serie insieme a My mad fat diary e a Top of The Lake. Nella categoria migliore serie tv straniera si rinnova il duello tra Breaking Bad e House of Cards, con outsider Borgen e The Returned.
La cerimonia di premiazione si terrà il 18 maggio al Theatre Royal Drury Lane di Covent Garden, Londra.
