La Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation ha annunciato i candidati alla ventiquattresima edizione dei Glaad Media Awards, i premi assegnati alle produzioni seriali, giornalistiche e cinematografiche che hanno una importanza rilevante a trasmettere un’immagine veritiera della comunità LGBT.

Tra le serie drammatiche il confronto è tra le affermate Grey’s Anatomy, Smash, True Blood, la defunta The LA Complex e la sorpresa Degrassi. Tra le comedy se la giocano Glee, Go On, Happy Endings, Modern Family e The New Normal. Ryan Murphy mente di Glee e di The New Normal è in gara anche nella categoria Tv Movie/Miniserie con American Horror Story: Asylum.
